Although our online store is open 24 hours per day, we are also a bricks and mortar store operating 8.30am to 5pm Mon to Friday and 9am to 1pm Saturdays and so emails will be responded to as soon as possible during these times. We observe Western Australian public holidays.
Reids Remotes only sells new remotes we do not sell repaired or second hand remotes. Replacement remotes are officially approved and operate the same as the original. Aftermarket options are the same electronically as the original remote but come in a different case.

Collecting Anonymous Information
Collection: We automatically collect general website traffic information (such as how many people have visited the site, most popular pages etc.). This information is collated into aggregate results in order to evaluate our service and business practice in an effort to provide you with an optimum shopping service.
Disclosure: We may share non-personal, aggregated information with other REIDS REMOTES Divisions, our partners and product distributors for research purposes. We never identify or disclose individual customers or visitors’ information or purchases but we may disclose how many customers bought a specific item or used a specific service such as an email list.

We collect personal information about you:
Cookies: For added convenience, we employ a "cookie" system on our website. A "cookie" is a small file placed on your machine which lets our site store information. This information allows us to make our site easier to use. Cookies allow our servers to keep track of your customer details between visits to our site. The information stored by the cookie includes the data that is provided during online registration.
Other information stored by the cookie includes website traffic data. This is not used to identify individual details but only collated into aggregate anonymous results in order to evaluate and improve our shopping service for our customers. Credit card information is never stored in the cookie.
Once you have logged in your account will remain open until you quit the browser. You can also simply logout.
The Personal Information we collect would be your name, your address, delivery addresses, phone number, email, your credit card details, interests/preferences, membership details, gift messages, gift voucher details, order details (i.e. products purchased), and password for access to REIDS REMOTES Shop Online.

Our email subscription service is an 'opt-in' system. You may unsubscribe or add additional interest categories at any stage by logging into your account.

Disclosure of Personal Information
We disclose personal information to our third party service providers who assist the REIDS REMOTES in running REIDS REMOTES Shop Online and carrying out the shopping services that the REIDS REMOTES offers.
For example, we disclose personal information such as your delivery address to a delivery service provider (i.e. a courier) as selected by you when you place your order.
These third party service providers may be located in Australia, and overseas locations. REIDS REMOTES has taken reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is treated by the REIDS REMOTES’s third party service providers in a manner consistent with the privacy law applicable to REIDS REMOTES.
We only publish personal information with your consent (e.g. if you win a competition) and then only in part (e.g. the winner is Sue of Armadale, NSW).

Under no circumstances will REIDS REMOTES Online sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.
Access to your personal information
Your personal information like your name, invoice and delivery addresses, phone number, email etc. is accessible to yourself by registering with REIDS REMOTES Shop Online. By registering with REIDS REMOTES Shop Online you will need to retain a username and password.
Please update your personal information when your details change in order for our records to be up to date and complete.
You must login before you can check your order status, or view or edit your registration details and your order. Delivery information you supplied when ordering is available online for your reference in your order status history.
Crucially, your credit card details are only transmitted in encrypted form. Unencrypted credit card information is NOT stored on our internet servers. Online credit card payments are currently processed using a third party payment service run by Pay Pal or EWAY. Both provide compliant payment services to the REIDS REMOTES Shop Online that is used to securely process customer payments. If we change this third party service provider, we will notify you here.
Our order processing system is protected by the REIDS REMOTES network firewall. A firewall is a hardware and software security system designed to filter specified exchanges of information and restrict access to authorised systems and users.

REIDS REMOTES may make changes to this privacy and security policy from time to time. If we make changes, the changes will be made here, and we will notify you of the changes on the front page of the REIDS REMOTES Shop Online website.
We would like you to be 100% happy with your purchase so please choose your product carefully. If you choose the wrong item, products can be returned for an exchange but you will need to cover the cost of shipping the item back to us and the additional cost of shipping the correct item to you.
Faulty products will be exchanged free of charge as long as they are in the original packaging and have not been damaged through misuse. Damaged caused by Australia Post cannot be covered by us. We pack all items in bubble wrap envelopes inside the satchel to reduce the possibility of any damage in transit. We expect the items to be returned to us in the same manner and packaging.
If you have problems programming your garage or gate remote please call or email us first before trying to return it. It will help if you can provide some photos of the motor or receiver you are trying to program the remote to so that we can provide specific instructions.
No responsibility will be taken by Reids for the remote design or the programming procedure. If you are still unable to program a remote after speaking to us and you live in the Perth metropolitan area and would prefer to have the remote programmed by a trained technician, we are happy to help, call us on 08 6110 2639 and we can arrange a call out for you. The price guide for the call out fee is on our website.
If you purchase a vehicle remote or remote key that requires diagnostic programming, we ask that you only use a licensed locksmith to do this procedure. Once an attempt has been made to program a smart remote key or proximity remote key to the vehicle we cannot accept a return on that key, because even though the process may have been unsuccessful, that key may now be locked as is normal during the programming process. If you encounter problems during the programming procedure please call us before attempting to return the item. All items returned will be tested and if found to be locked - no refund can be issued.
If you come to us to have a remote or key programmed to your vehicle and there is a problem later, please note you will need to bring the vehicle and all keys back to our workshop so we can diagnose the problem. We will test all keys and scan the vehicle for faults. If the key we have supplied is faulty and still within its warranty period we will replace it free of charge. If the fault is with the original key or with the vehicle we will do what we can to assist you in fixing the fault but charges may apply for any additional works we carry out. We will discuss this with you before we do any additional work.

When returning goods please use a reliable method of postage, as Reids Remotes is not responsible for any items you return that go missing or become damaged in transit. The customer is responsible for postage costs back to our premises when returning an item for a refund or exchange. Reids reserve the right to charge a repackaging fee if the original box is damaged.
Refunds for items retuned outside the 30 day return period, purchased in error or no longer needed will be refunded (minus 15% restocking fees) will be credited to the credit card or PayPal account you used to purchase the goods within 1-5 working days of receiving them at our premises. A refund will not be processed if the goods returned do not conform to our returns policy.
If you intend to exchange an item for a different item, simply e-mail email@example.com as soon as possible with the details of the remote you require so we can reserve it for you.
Exchanged items will only be dispatched when the returned undamaged item is received by us, in its original condition and box, with the original receipt and within 30 days of purchase. Please note you will need to pay the return postage.
Please note we do not offer any return or exchange without a receipt or proof of purchase.
Reids Remotes is not required to provide you with a copy of your original receipt to facilitate an exchange or refund.

Exchange of online purchases in store
No refunds will be given in store; however, we will allow exchanges to occur.
Returned items must be in undamaged original packaging, not worn or marked and within 30 days of initial purchase.
On line receipt must also be presented.
Out of Stock Items
As Reids is a bricks and mortar shop as well as an on-line shop we endeavour to keep our website/eBay shop up to-date with stock availability. However if you order an item and it has been brought in-store at the same time, a member of our staff will contact you within 48 hours of your order.
SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Although our online store is open 24 hours per day, we are real people operating a brick and mortar store and so emails will be responded to Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm WST. We observe Western Australian public holidays.
At Reid’s we will endeavor to process and dispatch your order as quickly as possible. The majority of orders are processed and shipped on the same day if placed before 2pm Western Australian Time. Of course sometimes we are very busy and so we promise to ship your order to you within 3 working days maximum after your order is confirmed (received, paid and processed).
You will be notified of any items that are out of stock within 48 hours of placing your order and of their expected delivery date. These items will be placed on back order if requested. Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been dispatched.
Free Untracked Shipping: We offer free shipping on all orders if you choose to use it. This offer is via standard Australia Post mail with NO tracking. Delivery times for this shipping method, is estimated as, up to 10 days depending on location. No responsibility can be taken for items lost by Australia post when shipped with this method. We will of course pack you item to protect it in transit.
Australia Post Red Parcel Post: We recommend this upgrade if you wish to add tracking to your order and speed it up as this can save up to 2 days from delivery time. Tracking allows you to see where the item is and lodge a query with Australia Post should the item be misplaced by them.
Australia Post Express Post: Upgrading to the Express Post option adds tracking and next business day delivery to most major cities in Australia when lodged before midday W.A. local time. Tracking allows you to see where the item is and lodge a query with Australia Post should the item be misplaced by them.
Click & Collect: You can use this option if you wish to ensure the items are in stock and set aside for you. To use this option simply select and pay for your items online selecting Click & Collect at checkout. We will then confirm to you via email your order is in stock and ready to collect from our East Vic Park shop during normal business hours.
Deliver & Program Service (Business Hours): If you are purchasing a remote that requires programming and you live in the Perth metropolitan area and would prefer to have the remote programmed by a trained technician, we are happy to help. We have included all postcodes that are covered under this service into our website and so when you enter your delivery address, this needs to be the location where the remote is to be programmed. If you are purchasing the remote for a rental property or location other that the address you entered when you registered on our website, please make sure to enter this address as the delivery address during the checkout process.
Once you have entered this delivery address our website will check the location of the property and calculate the cost of the call out. We are based in East Victoria Park and so all call out fees are calculated to include the return trip travel time to the delivery address and the time needed to program your remote. We have tried to keep this system as fair as possible by using 10km increments and so locations within a 5km radius of our shop are charged at $55 inclusive and then the price increases at each extra 10km.
55km plus $110
Our deliver and program pricing is for call outs carried out during normal business hours i.e. between 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. If you wish to have the technician visit your premises outside of these hours it will incur a 50% surcharge as we have to pay time and a half for such a call out.
We will confirm to you once your order has been shipped and include your tracking number if you have upgraded to a method that includes tracking.
The Deliver & Program fee covers travel time to the job and 1/2 hour onsite. All time after that will be charged at $65 per hour or part thereof in a minimum of 15 minute segments. Any additional time required will need to be paid for on the day.
CANCELLING CALL OUT: If you wish to cancel a call out, this should be done at least 24 hours before the call out is due or you will be liable for the call out fee.
Call outs where we attend a property but are unable to complete the job due to any of the following but not limited to will be liable for the full call out fee:
No keys available for access to control panel or receiver box
Customer does not attend (we will wait onsite for 30 minutes maximum)
Customer has ordered the incorrect items or given us incorrect information
Customer has double booked us with another contractor
Remotes cannot be programmed due to motor or receiver faults which require a service call
RE-STOCKING FEE: Where a call out is cancelled and remotes have been ordered as part of this call out, the customer will be liable for payment in full of the cost of the remotes or if they wish to cancel the remote order, a re-stocking fee of 15% of the cost of the remotes will be charged to cancel the order.
Re-stocking fees are charged as a standard by our suppliers to return remotes ordered for such jobs and so we are simply passing on the cost we incur.
Please be aware that we take all precautions when packing your items and in most cases use bubble wrap envelopes inside the satchel to reduce the possibility of any damage in transit. We may also use boxing on certain products to further protect them from damage in transit.
Orders Inside Australia
Yes we do deliver anywhere in Australia including Post office boxes.
Reids Remotes will not be held liable for the loss or damage of items delivered by Australia Post. If you choose an Australia Post Satchel to have your remote shipped the satchels have a unique tracking number that can be used to track the item should Australia Post fail to deliver the item.
Australia post estimate delivery times between 2-6 days in the Metro area.
No we do not deliver internationally.
