This key profile is a JMA FI-16.P and has the same key blade as a Silca SIP 22.

In the case of the models listed above, they use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

Please allow a minimum of 10 minutes and up to 45 minutes for certain keys to be copied.

The main security element in modern car or motorcycle keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most modern remote keys or flip keys there are 2 main elements, the remote control which often just opens the doors and the transponder chip which holds encrypted security information that allows the car to start with the key is placed in the ignition where this information can be ready by the cars computer.

Having even a manual key as a spare can save a lot of stress and expense later and is much cheaper then having a spare remote or flip key.
