Scania 164 & R-series truck key - transponder cloning & key cutting

This key profile was used with the following Scania Truck models in the table below:

THIS TABLE IS INTENDED AS A GUIDE ONLY AND YOU MAY FIND YOUR KEY IS USED WITH A SCANIA MODEL FROM A DIFFERENT YEAR OR A MODEL NOT LISTED IN THIS TABLE. AS LONG AS YOUR KEY IS A TRACK CUT OR LASER CUT KEY AS IN THE PHOTOS WE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH A SPARE KEY.

This key profile is a JMA HU-2.P1 and has the same key blade as a Silca HU 71 or Orion HF 72.

In the case of the models listed above, they use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

Please allow a minimum of 10 minutes and up to 45 minutes for certain keys to be copied.

The main security element in modern car, van truck, or motorcycle keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most modern remote keys or flip keys there are 2 main elements, the remote control which often just opens the doors and the transponder chip which holds encrypted security information that allows the vehicle to start when the key is placed in the ignition where this information can be read by the vehicle's computer.

Having even a manual key as a spare can save a lot of stress and expense later and is much cheaper then having a spare remote key or flip key.
