Holden Colorado & Rodeo compatible car key with transponder cloning & key cutting

This key profile was used with a number of Holden models as shown in the table below.

The same profile was also used in some later versions of these models that use remote keys or flip keys and so a spare manual key is also possible for those models.

We do also offer both genuine and aftermarket options for the remote keys and flip keys used with these vehicles.

The dates in the list below are intended to be a guide only.

This key profile is a JMA ISU-3D.P1 and is the same as a Silca TOY 43R which was originally a Toyota key profile. There are a number of Silca references that refer to this key profile but with varied head shapes or transponder types. These include: TOY43RP. TOY43RATE, TOY43RMH & TOY43RFH.

The Holden models listed above are of course re-badged Isuzu D-Max vehicles and hence they use an Isuzu referenced key. A separate listing of compatible Isuzu models for this key profile can be found under Isuzu in the manufactures list from the homepage or by searching in the search box above.

In the case of the models listed above, they use highly encrypted transponder chips and so the vehicle MUST be present to make a new key as we need to gather data from the vehicle and the key using our special equipment to make a copy of the chip.

The main security element in modern car & van keys is the transponder chip. These have been used in most makes of cars from the mid 90's. It is this item that allows the car ignition to start the engine. These transponders can come in a few different types and there is more information on this subject in our FAQ section.

In most remote keys the remote and transponder are separate items with the remote simply opening the doors and the transponder being the security. As a cheap alternative to having 2 remote keys, if you simply want a spare key, a transponder key like this one can save you a lot of dollars.

A few things to consider would be:

In many cars using a remote key, when the car is locked using the remote and then opened with the key, it sets off the alarm? The alarm will continue until the car is started using a recognized transponder key.

Always a good idea to check this before getting a copy made as if you are sharing the car with another user who uses the remote your neighbours may not be too pleased with the regular early morning car alarm calls. If the key is intended to only be a spare then it will not matter.

A transponder key such as this is essentially waterproof  as it does not contain a battery and so if you like surfing, boating, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, fishing or any other water based activities where you have to lock your vehicle and leave it unattended for a while this kind of key will allow you to lock the car and bring the key with you without fear of any water damage as would be the case with a remote key or flip key.

Having a spare transponder key can save you thousands of dollars should you lose your main every day key. Losing your only key with some brands of cars can be a massive headache, involving towing your vehicle to a dealer, having to have the immobilizer box replaced, having all the lock barrels replaced and having the ignition barrel replaced. You may be without your vehicle for up to a week.

Of course this is a worst case scenario and with some makes and models a new key can be cut and coded to your vehicle even is all the keys are lost but even then this is still a much more expensive and stressful procedure than simply having a spare key made.
