DEA Look & Mac electric swing gate manual release key.

Having an electic gate on your home or unit complex is great for security. Using a remote to open and close the agte give great convienience but what do you do if the electricity goes out and there is no power to the motor? How to enter or exit the property and more importantly how do you allow access to emergency services such as an ambulance or fire brigade if there is an emergency inside the complex?

This unusual looking key allows you to disengage the drive gear in the motor when the power is off and then manually open the gate.

IT IS VITAL THAT ONCE THE POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED THAT YOU PUT THE GATE BACK TO THE CLOSED POSITION AND THEN USING THE KEY RE-ENGAGE THE DRIVE GEAR SO THAT THE GATE CAN FUNCTION NORMALLY AGAIN.

It is a very good idea to switch off the power to the motor before you use this key to disengage the drive gear. This will protect the motor should the electricity come back on while the gate is open or out of its original position. Once the electricity is back on, put the gate back to the fully closed position and use your key to re-engage the drive gear, then turn the power back on to the motor.

In the majority of installations there is a on/off switch on the sockey where the gate control is plugged in. It is a good idea to familiarise yourself with the layout of the gate motor so that in an emergency you can act quickly and with confidence to turn off the power and disengage the drive gear and open the gate.
