Lanes 1000 Series pre-cut mortice lock key A - H

Mortice keys are a very old type of lock and key system. These keys here are designed to work with the Lanes 1000 Series mortice lock. Please note Lanes also make another mortice lock  called the Lanes Rim Lock which uses a much longer key and they are number with 1 to 6 on the keys.

If you have a Lanes 1000 Series lock but do not have a key for it, you will normally find the letter stamped on the body of the lock near the key hole. You will need to remove the lock from the door to see this as shown in the attached photos.

Where we are out of stock of the branded keys we will substitute a high quality replacement key blank from a reputable manufacturer such as Silca, Ilco or JMA etc depending on availability at the time.

We only stock high quality key blanks made from brass and generally coated in nickel. These keys perform better in all locks as the majority of the internal parts of the lock are also made from brass and so wear is reduced.

These days there are also many cheap steel keys coming from Asia and these can do more damage to your lock as the key will be harder than the lock and so cause wear inside the lock. Again we do not stock these cheaper keys as we wish to provide the best possible product for your purpose and one that will last a long time without wear.

We carry stock of over 300 different key profiles in our shop and so even if you don't see it on this website this does not mean we don't have it.
