Honda CR-V 2011 - 2012 2 button remote flip key key aftermarket

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

This stylish aftermarket Honda 2 button remote flip-key can be coded to your Honda CR-V model between 2011 and 2012 as long as the part numbers on your original remote module match to: 72147-SWA-K1

This key has an integrated transponder chip, meaning the chip is part of the circuit board unlike most other keys where it is a separate item. When programming keys with an integrated transponder chip, the process is done in one step and can only be done using specialst diagnostic equipment by a licensed repairer. We are licesened to carry out this type of work in WA so we can do this at out East Victoria Park shop. Just call to make an appointment.

If you just want a spare key and are not fussed on having the remote we can make you a manual transponder key. You can also see this option under compatible items. It is very important to check if your car has an integrated alarm system by locking it using the lock button on your remote, wait for 1 minute then open the door using the key manually and NOT press the unlock button. If the alarm goes off then you will need a spare key with a remote, if the alarm does not go off then you can have a spare manual transponder key such as the HOND-31.P

This flip key has a number of advantages over the plastic body OEM key in that:

1. The flip key contruction is much stronger than the plastic Honda shell and far less likely to break

2. The flip key folds so it is easier to store in your pocket or bag

3. The flip key will not tear the lining of your pockets as the key folds away and so will not dig into your lining.

The key is supplied with a battery and with the key blade fitted to the flip key body. Spare batteries can be purchased under the Compatible items tab.

Please note the measurements given under the Data Sheet for the key are for the folded flip key and so the length measurement given does not include the key blade when it is in the open position.

We write the codes to the chip on this circuit board specific to working with this car. This type of aftermarket key can have many different codes written to it, so even though you may see other keys for sale that look identical to this one, please note they may not have the same information written to the citcuit board and so may not be suitable for your car.
