Audi 8E0837220Q 220K or 220D 3 button ID48 flip key for Audi A4 S4 or RS4

This product has been temporarily removed from sale as direct result of the Consumer Goods (Products Containing Button/Coin Batteries) Safety Standard 2020 which becomes enforceable on 22nd June 2022 and carries fines of up to $1million. 

All products that contain a button cell or coin type battery must be safety tested to confirm they comply with these new regulations. All button cell batteries must be in a new type of packaging with new labels. 

We are working with all of our suppliers to confirm this compliance before we make the product available for sale again. 

We should have had 18 months to get this compliance but sadly the ACCC did not inform our suppliers or us or pretty much any other industry and we only found out about this new law 4 weeks ago.

Audi compatible 3 button remote flip key with an ID 48 transponder chip on the circuit board and a 434 MHz remote control.

This remote flip key suits the following models as long as your original key has the one of these part numbers:

8E0837220D - 8E0837220K or 8E0837220Q as shown in the photos.

As this is an aftermarket flip key the details printed on the shell will not match the details on a genuine key and should be ignored. The photos show the circuit board that comes inside this key and it is marked A4G indicating that the key suits the models listed above and it has a GLASS ID48 transponder chip fitted inside the back of the case. 

This type of separate transponder can be cloned or it can be programmed to the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool connected to the vehicle. If you have a working key the chip can be cloned and you can swap the glass ID 48 chip from inside the back of this key for the cloned one.

The remote and transponder chip are programmed separately in keys like this where the transponder is not part of the circuit board.

We can program the new key to your car in our East Victoria Park workshop or you can have it cut and programmed by an automtive locksmith where you live.

Please take care when opening the back of your remote to replace the battery as there is a small plastic tab on the back cover which uis veryu easily broken and so we advise you check out YouTube for instructions on how to safely open the back of the key and not damage this tab.

If the case of your original flip key is damaged but the remote works and the key still starts the car, you just need to replace the other casing, you can find this listed under Compatible Items.

Programming a spare key when there is a working key is far easier than trying to add a key when you have lost your only working key and so we strongly advise all customers to make sure they have a spare key for their vehicles.
