The information above is intended to be used as a guide only. If you believe you have this key on a model or year not listed please get in touch or pop into our worksop so we can scan the key and confirm it is using the same ID48 transponder chip and 433.92 MHz remote.

This key uses the ID 48 Megamos Crypto transponder chip used in the majority of VW cars and the remote transmits on 433.92 Mhz.

The flip key comes fitted with a key blade on the following profile:

SILCA HU66 = JMA HU HAA = KD HU#86

The remote comes ready to use with a battery fitted and spare batteries can be ordered from the compatible items tab. This style remote key use CR2032 batteries.

As this key is an aftermarket product it does not come with a VW logo on the back but you can purchase a 12mm logo sticker if you wish to place one there.

The transponder chip and the remote part will both need to be coded to the vehicle using specialist diagnostic equipment.

This can be done by most automotive locksmiths. If you intend to use a local locksmith please speak to them first before ordering to ensure they are happy to cut & code a key they did not supply.

In WA this can only be done by a licensed technician. We are licensed to do these types of keys and will be happy to help you.

The vehicle will need to be there for us to code your new key and we will generally need the vehicle for between 45-60 minutes.

Dispose of used button/coin batteries immediately and safely. A battery can still be dangerous even when it can no longer operate the device. Place sticky tape around both sides of the battery and dispose of it immediately out of reach of children in an outside bin or recycle safely.
