Smart ForTwo 2008 - 2014 W451 series 3 button flip key key

Smart ForTwo W451 VIN series vehicles from 2008 - 2014 came with an black plastic round headed 3 button fixed blade key. These original Smart remote keys had very small delicate micro-switches on the PCB inside and we see lots of these where the button pads collapse on these tiny microswitches. 

The Smart ForTwo W451 from 2008 - 2014 had a VIN number starting W**451.

Please check your VIN starts W**451........ where the ** can be any letter but the W451 must match.

This type of key has an integrated ID46 transponder chip on the circuit board and when this is programmed the car the remote part is also programmed at the same time.

There are a couple of very similar looking keys for SMART vehicles but the coding on the circuit board is different in each vehicle and so it is vital you check the details of your vehicle matches before ordering.

These flip keys are very good quality and tend to be much stronger than the original flip keys that come with the vehicle. 

The first image shows a size comparison between the 2 types of key so you can get an idea of the size of the flip key.

The flip key is supplied with a battery fitted and a key blade and roll pin. The key blade will need to be cut to match the vehicle and then it will need to be fitted to the flip key body using the roll pin supplied with it. Any locksmith will be able to do this for you if you are having it done locally where you live.

There is a recess on the back of the flip key where you can place a 14mm logo sticker if you wish but please note it is not supplied with one.
