Porsche 911 or Boxster 986 2 button remote key shell replacement

The original Porsche Boxster and 911 remote keys that came with the 986 series models were prone to the plastic over the buttons cracking and then this makes it very difficult to use the remote.

Here we have a replacement key shell to suit these Porsche models:

If the buttons on your original Porsche key have cracked through this is the ideal way to replce the outer case and return your key to its original condition.

The kit included the front and back sections of the plastic case and a new key blade as it is not always possible to use the original key blade.

The transponder chip used in this style Porsche remote key is small and made from glass and must be handled with great care. If the transponder chip is damaged your car will not start.

Other than that, swapping over the shell if pretty straight forward. 

If you would like us to do this for you and cut the new keyblade we can do all of that at our East Victoria Park workshop. It is best if the car is present when we do this so the new blade can be tested etc. We will also test your battery during this process.
